I have never been treated so badly in any business. I made my first appointment to get my teeth cleaned at Clermont Smiles Dentistry. I informed them a week in advance that I had just overcome the flu, a week earlier I was still coughing. The day of the appointment I was taken back and had all my x-rays done with no issues. I cleared my throat when it was convenient. After the x-rays the dentist came in and advised me on my treatment options. I was placed in a room for one hour waiting for my cleaning. After an hour the dentist came in and advised me they were not going to do my cleaning because I was coughing. They made another appointment for me two weeks later. A nice gentleman called to tell me that I need a deep tissue cleaning that would run me $500 after my two different Dental insurances payments. I advised him let me get the normal cleaning and we can do the deep clean at a later date.
Some services (root canal, orthodontics) are not done on site and need to be referred out
The equipment is state of the art
The building and the office is brand new so it’s very clean
Pros:
Here are my pros and cons.
Office will follow up with you after services and provide you with courtesy calls
I have gone to this dentist three separate times: routine cleaning; teeth fillings; follow up due to pain after fillings. The best advice I can offer is get all the information and facts up front and take advantage of your predetermination of services (estimate of costs) before agreeing to any additional services.
The entire team is wonderful. Their processes are well thought out and customer friendly. There are no financial surprises. Ryan run's a tight ship and they work hard to make sure you are getting the most from your insurance company. Anabel and the Doctor's are all really professional, but personal. I'm happy we chose your practice for our family.
The office staff was not well versed with insurance coverage and patient responsibility so I had to have multiple conversations regarding what my obligation was versus my insurance (one of these conversations was right after my fillings and my entire mouth was numb! I can’t make this up.)
Excellent service! The benefits coordinator and staff were very attentive and helpful! The doctor did an excellent job and is very professional. All their equipment is high-end technology, and pretty clean. I had my second visit today, and I'm definitely looking forward for the next visit! Thank you Clermont Smiles Dentistry! :)
Cons:
My next appointment I came in and they had me down for a deep cleaning and two crowns to be replaced. Again I said I would schedule that a later date and they said it would be another 30 minutes for the hygienist to get to me. After an hour I was taken into the back room by the hygienist and was advised she would not do the cleaning because the Dentist said I had to get the deep cleaning. I said I would at least like to have my teeth cleaned and polished but the business refused. I gave them two chances but I am sorry to have to write this review. I would not recommend this business to anyone. I don’t know if it was the money they wanted but I can see why they refused to do the preventive maintenance my two insurances pay for.
This is a fantastic dental office. They care about their clients, take their time to assess their needs and feelings about dental work and are sensitive to financial situations. They will to go the extra mile and work with you. Everyone I encountered was more than pleasant, always smiling and genuinely caring. I have found my home for dental.
The office staff and dentist are very friendly and professional
Office may try and push additional services to upsell appointment. I went in for a routine cleaning and was told I needed 5 fillings and a crown (this is for someone who gets their teeth cleaned regularly every 6 months and flosses daily!). After running a predetermination of services, my responsibility (after my insurance paid) would have been over $1,000. I passed on the crown but went through with the fillings at the recommendation of the dentist who stated she preferred to be proactive; skipping a long story, I have had pain on the left side of my mouth for over a month because of a pre-existing deep filling that the dentist decided she needed to redo to be “proactive”. When I went back in because of the pain, I was told to wait it out for a few weeks and if the pain continued, to see another practice for a root canal. I think this was handled very poorly and more responsibility should have been taken by the dentist.
